Katherine graduated in December of 2021 with a BS in Environmental Science and an emphasis in atmosphere and climate science.
Katherine's research during the summer of 2021, supported by
CSC2, evaluated the ability of an algorithm to objectively determine the wavelength and orientation of atmospheric canopy waves and it resulted in an on-line poster presentation at the Fall 2021 Annual Meeting of the American Geophysical Union:
Mifsud, K. E., M. Iqbal, P. Dérian, S. D. Mayor, 2021: Objective determination of wavelength and orientation of atmospheric canopy waves. Poster A45C-1867 at Fall meeting of the American Geophysical Union, 16 December, New Orleans, LA.

Katherine obtained her Masters in
Atmospheric Science from the University of Washington in May 2025. Previous research includes coarse mode sea spray aerosol-cloud interactions. She is currently a PhD student in Atmospheric and Climate Science at the University of Washington. Her current research with coarse mode aerosols continues!
