This page chronicles REAL observations of billows in Dixon, California during the CHATS experiment. Billows occur in a stably stratified atmosphere, produced by pertubations causing local dynamic instability. Kevin-Helmholtz instability is one such example seen here to the right. Cases are given in RHI scans. Additional cases will be added as they are discovered. Note that not all axes have a 1:1 aspect ratio.
